In this ongoing title, young Bart Allen set up camp in the town of Manchester, Alabama under the guidance of speedster guru Max Mercury. Combining a lighthearted feel with interesting new villains, Impulse was a gamble that paid off, running 89 issues. The character of Impulse himself later earned a place on the super hero teams Young Justice and the Teen Titans.
